5 years ago we “dropped” our little garden shed
into a weed patch of our new property.
I had little time to ponder the placement of the beloved shed–I was just grateful it had made the journey.
I knew it was the beginning of my garden.
A garden I had dreamed of nearly my entire adult life.
So let’s take a little peak back in time–and see how Rabbit Run Cottage was created.
We could have won an ugly shed contest with this beauty!

It needed a dormer, so Lucy can have sleep overs and read books.

Rabbit Run Cottage has grown up along with Lucy.
Its colors are more muted for the garden, and the play kitchen was retired. A pile of pillows, quilts and books are in the loft. Lucy is very gracious in sharing her little house with me.
Every Spring a new family of rabbits is born under Rabbit Run Cottage.
You know how lucky you are, right?

Yes I would have voted for you in the ugly shed contest, but you definitely won the beautiful getaway in the end! It’s amazing, how talented your husband is to have seen beyond the beginning to create such a charming place.
When we lived in town, the shed became a little tourist sight…people would drive up and try to sneak a photo…I would always just say come on back and take a look up close!
Wow. I am impressed. You did this with an ordinary, ugly garden shed. You ought to market this idea to whatever places sell these. The transformation is incredible.

Oh to have some tea on that porch. I love how Lucy (I assume) drew the windows where she wanted them. Really a piece of art in your garden!
Thank you for your kind comment….and yes, I gave Lucy a marker and we drew out what she wanted….she was having a little trouble “seeing the vision” –truthfully so was I!
